Welcome. I'm a husband, a father, an ordained minister, and a postmodern pilgrim. You can check out some of the projects I'm involved with below. In this space I mostly write about the intersections of Christianity and culture.

You make a good point Tom, so let me clarify a bit. I didn't mean that statement as a classic either/or in the sense that leaders must choose one or the other, I meant it as a generalization - and generalizations certainly exclude shades of grey. Generally, at this stage in the conversation, I think Christian leaders do fall into one or the other of these categories. However, I'm sure you're right that there are many who still haven't decided where they stand, and it may very well be that this muddled middle constitutes a large percentage - perhaps even the majority. That's not my intuitive sense, but I have no data on the matter so I may very well be wrong.

Thanks for your comments!

Jason,
You have an either or assumption:

"you either agree wholeheartedly and are busy critiquing the old models in order to discern a way forward, or you deny it and are busy defending the old models in order to protect the current paradigm."

But what if there is a third assumption and neither of the two above are true. That is my belief and I think you should broaden your viewpoint more. If you want, I will send you a more detailed explanation. Or, think about it yourself.

God bless,
Tom
