Jason – I agree that much good has been brought to the table through John MacArthur’s ministry. Though I too disagree with some of his theology (obviously!), it is much more important that the body of Christ work together through areas of agreement and learn from one another than continually try to tear each other apart through areas of disagreement. I am anxious to read your reports!

I appreciate this. This is the kind of things that I have been looking for a healthy balance in myself, especially as we (Little Flowers Community) has been trying to live out “The Rule of We”, meaning that when we talk about the Church, even in critique, we must speak about it in terms of “we” or “us”. Tough. Thanks Jason.

Oh, and I literally did laugh out loud at the statement: “I’m pretty sure women are allowed at the conference”.

Diane - Agreed. It’s easy to be divided over less important matters. I’m honestly hoping to come away from this weekend feeling built up by what I hear and having a diminished sense of my differences with other followers of Christ.

Jamie - I’m glad you laughed. I laughed after I wrote it too, but I really did mean it sincerely. As I wrote the word “sisters” I stopped and thought, “I wonder if women are allowed? I’m sure they are…” Then I laughed : )

Bill - Truth be told, I’m working the conference for my employer. But that doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun too. Who knows? Maybe I’ll get saved ; )

It is interesting that they quote Jonathan Edwards on the conference website considering the charismatic gifts that flowed from his ministry…

Actually, after reading through most of what this church believes and having a huge problem with parts of it myself, I will lift you in prayer for this weekend.:-)
