On Being Called An Anti-Semite
The greatest way to respond to the injustices done against Jews is to stand against injustices committed against anyone, anywhere.
A great statement and a good discussion from Mike Todd about a thorny topic. What are your thoughts on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?

“The greatest way to respond to the injustices done against Jews is to stand against injustices committed against anyone, anywhere.”
That is an awesome statement and I would even dare say – it’s among the truest words ever spoken.
“What are your thoughts on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?”
Other than the fact that it’s been going on longer than life itself? (ok, so that’s an exaggeration but still….)
1) We are all human beings (obviously) no matter where we come from. No matter our cultural background, etc….
2) We all live in this world of sin brought on by our disobedience to God.
3) Because of the above, we are all affected and *infected* by sin. It runs through our veins. It’s apart of our DNA. There is no escaping it.
(But enough with the “duh” factor)
With all that being said – both the Jews/children of Israel and the Palestinians have made their share of mistakes and have fallen into sin.
There is no mistake that Gods promise AND covenant is indeed with the Jewish people/children of Israel. They are His chosen people and the land of Israel does belong to them because of God’s covenant to them. However, just like all other human beings – the Jews are not above nor without sin (like I stated above). When they do wrong – it must be pointed out and must be condemned. However, as Christians – I believe it is our duty to stand with God’s chosen for they are our brothers and sisters.
Again, that doesn’t mean the children of Israel are above sin and disobedience towards God (exhibit “A”….The Bible). Also, by NO means *does* that mean we should give a cold shoulder to the Palestinians. We need to show love and compassion to all – but again – I believe our “allegiance” (so to speak) should be with God’s chosen ones.
