Welcome. I'm a husband, a father, an ordained minister, and a postmodern pilgrim. You can check out some of the projects I'm involved with below. In this space I mostly write about the intersections of Christianity and culture.

Jason - my wife and I ran the RE:FORM/Let’s Tend the Garden ministry at the Vineyard Boise for a few years before leaving to focus on the Payette River Vineyard church plant. As such, I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times at the RE:FORM/LTTG conferences.

I must confuse, though, that my wife knew him better as she on staff at the Vineyard Boise organizing the conferences and coordinating efforts across several different organizations including Floresta, Restoring Eden (Peter Illyn), and A Rocha. My main focus was on leading the local ministry within the church and the surrounding community.

awesome! i love that his book has finally come out...i met scott at a RE:FORM/Let's Tend the Garden conference at the Boise Vineyard a few years ago, and we swapped stories about Haiti. he is such a genuine and great guy...i love how he talks about being an accidental environmentalists here in this short interview: http://vimeo.com/4204569

personally, i prefer the term biblical justice, or just 'justice', which includes social justice, environmental justice, economic justice...i just like it's more holistic embrace...

Josh - How did you meet Scott Josh? I'm pretty impressed with Floresta/Plant With Purpose as well.

Julie - Social Justice has a pretty broad spectrum of practical meanings, depending on the context in which it's being used but they generally all have to do with caring for the poor. Scott doesn't advocate wealth redistribution.

He had me until he said "social justice" - then he lost me. Sorry, but I'm not into (nor do I support) the "redistribution of wealth" philosophy held by progressive thinking (which I consider dangerous enough on it's own). Maybe there's another definition of social justice that I'm not aware of?
