Welcome. I'm a husband, a father, an ordained minister, and a postmodern pilgrim. You can check out some of the projects I'm involved with below. In this space I mostly write about the intersections of Christianity and culture.

This was very funny and creative with some good props and editing although I am not sure this is what the teacher that handed out the assignment was actually looking for. If they were trying to make an infomercial warning of the dangers of drug abuse this isn't it. They should instead show the movie "Requiem for a Dream"............that movie will make you think twice about drugs!!!! Although I am positive it will not pass the christian school requirements for a "recommended movie" but it should.

I could be wrong Julie, but I don't think this is meant to be serious advice.

WOW! (and the jury is still out on whether I mean that in a good way or bad). Don't know if they were using the humorous props in order to make the watching experience for others a "not so harsh" one. Maybe they just figured they wouldn't be able to make it "look real" if they used real looking props. (or maybe they were just being guys).

I think they did a decent job - however, I will say that although I give kuddos for the guy who encouraged others to take their Bibles to parties....I feel safe in betting my last dollar that approach is not going to help the situation nor bring anyone to Christ. Reading your Bible to people at parties is an admirable approach but not one that WON'T come off as judgemental or self-righteous (or even "better than thou") towards the other partiers. You'll turn more away than opening up minds and winning souls to Christ.

I give them an A for "interesting" (although I will never be able to look at "hello kitty" the same way again) - an "A" for wanting to reach out an make a difference - but a "D" on their tactics of how to handle an actual partying situation.

BTW - I remember when I went to a private school. The last year I was there, all I walked in on two stupid guys chewing. They thought they were so cool in being "sneaky" - which they weren't. Sneaky is not doing a drug on school property. That's called "out in the open" and you're just very lucky if someone doesn't walk in on you.

I'm give them an A for production, an A+ for acting, and a B- for content. They didn't really hit the real dangers of drugs, especially hard drugs: addiction and life sucking defeat. Although, in their favor, I think the picture was a great metaphor towards that point. I really loved the props :)
